about us

something beautiful is a weekly experiment in podcasting.

we hope it truly becomes stories worth talking about.

stories about God, life, friends, family and why it all matters.

join us as we share why God matters to us all and how it impacts our life.

the music ::

each week we try to feature clips of musicians we enjoy. we feature music from independent artists, artists who have given permission and/or waived licensing requirements or have made music available for free public download.

when it’s made available from the record labels, we’ll also feature music from signed artists as part of giveaways and reviews.

if you’d like to have your music featured on the podcast at some point, please feel free to drop us an e-mail or send us a tweet and let us know where we can find your music.

the setup ::

how do you make a podcast work with loads of stories and hosts who live on two separate continents? technology of course!

we’re a low budget podcast for sure and are huge fans of open source software and ideas. here’s a list of the primary software we use for our podcasts:

  • Skype - the primary software we both use to interview our guests who are in various locations around the world. we use their free service which connects Skype users around the world whenever possible or use their low priced VOIP to landline service whenever necessary.
  • Call Graph - a Skype plug-in that allows PC users (Jonathan) to record Skype conversations with super ease and save the conversations as Mp3 or Wav files.
  • Call Recorder - a low-cost option for Mac users (Thomas) to record Skype conversations.
  • Audacity - a great open source Digital Audio Workstation. works on multiple operating systems and lets users combine/edit/record multiple audio tracks.
