I think people are trying to bring about more gender and racial equality in the "movement" but I didn't think anyone would suggest we've "arrived" at that point yet. However, globally I think the emerging movement is far more racially diverse if not gender diverse as well. From what I've read, the global emerging church movement is growing faster and larger in many other countries outside the US. You may want to listen to our interviews with Andrew Jones, Tom Sines and Tony Campolo for more on that.
